Registration for the 2024 House League season will open at 9:00 am on Saturday January 6, 2024.

When does registration open/close?

Registration will open at 9am on January 6, 2024, for all House League Divisions and will run until April 26, 2024.

When registering you will need to enter your Respect In Sport certificate number. If you have not yet completed this certification, please click on link below:

How long is the season?

The House League season runs from mid-May (weather dependent) until early to mid-August.

What are the divisions and costs?

See below for tentative nights of the week and fees.  

Please note: The City of Barrie does not confirm field allocations until late March so changes may be necessary.

What does my registration fee pay for?

  • Field Costs (includes lit fields)
  • Umpire Fee
  • Uniform Jersey
  • Equipment (baseballs, bats, helmets, bases, catchers gear etc.)
  • Team/individual picture
  • Year End Banquet/Awards
  • Player and Coach Insurance
  • Administrative costs

What equipment do I need to play?

  • Glove
  • Running shoes and/or cleats (no metal spikes please)
  • Batting helmet with face mask
  • All Divisions require fielder’s masks for all positions.
  • Pitchers Helper in U9 Division will still be required to wear batting helmet with mask.

Where/when are the games played?
All House League home games are played in Barrie. Fields include Kearsey, Cloughley, Shear, MacMorrison, Ferndale, Painswick and Tree Nursery (Springwater).

  • The U7 and U9 divisions will have a practice from 6:30pm - 7:00pm followed by a game 7:00pm - 8:00pm each week. Additionally, there will also be a separate practice night for each team/division
  •  U11 and U13 games begin at 6:30pm.
  • Games at the U15 division and up begin at 6:30pm or 8:00pm (or a combination of both).
  • U13 division and up will have games with Newmarket and Vaughan and will require travel.

Is it possible for my daughter to play up a division? 

Please register for the division that corresponds with your child’s age

  • After completing registration, please email BDGSA President with your written play up request.
  • Play up requests will not be reviewed until full registration closes and division numbers meet requirements.
  • Those approved to play up are responsible to pay the difference in registration fees (if any).

Special Requests:
Requests to have siblings play on the same team are the only requests that will be guaranteed.

  • Coaching requests are not permitted except under extenuating circumstance.
  • Team balancing is the primary concern and will take precedence over special requests.

I would like to coach. Is this possible?
New Coaches - please let us know you are interested via the volunteer section of the registration process. All individuals wanting to be a Head Coach will need to complete a Coaches Registration. Once received, you will be sent a volunteer letter. Take this letter to your local police service to have your record check and vulnerable sector screening completed. Please allow 4-6 weeks turn around. Once completed please email form to

Returning Coaches - if you already have a Record Check on file, you will need to complete an “annual offence declaration form” which we will make available to you.  

Coach Commitment - Coaches must commit to attending both the game night and the divisional practice night (if applicable) as well as Event Day.

Volunteering Information:

 The BDGSA relies on volunteers to keep registration costs down and, therefore, requests a volunteer commitment from every registrant. We have many different ways you can help out. Alternatively, you are also able to “buyout” of your volunteer commitment at a cost of $35 per player/family

"Signup for Alerts" during the registration process to receive information regarding registration, updates, cancellations, schedules changes, etc. This is how we update all parents and players throughout the year. 

Is there a discount if I register more than one player?
Yes. The BDGSA offers a $10 discount for the second child and any children thereafter.

What is your refund policy?
The BDGSA will issue a full refund less administrative, insurance and uniform fees prior to May 30th with a written request.

  • No refunds will be issued after May 30th. Exceptions may be required due to injury or illness.

Barrie Bash 2024

Barrie Bash 2024  Will Be LIVE on Wed Oct 18 on Event Connect 

U11 , U13 , U15 , U17 and U19
This is an open tournament separated into T1 and T2  (U15 -U19) if enough teams to support 

DETAILS: 5 game guarantee All Divisions – weather permitting

                 All Divisions $800.00 ( Canadian)  

*If paying by E-Transfer, please list Division and Team name in the Memo spot of the transfer*

All Teams must be Ready to play at 10am on Friday June 7/2024. No Schedule Exceptions for Games will be  accepted. 

*All Teams Need to be PREPARED TO PLAY AT 10 AM 

*A representative of the team is required to sign-in prior to their first game, at the pavilion located at the Barrie Sports Complex

Acceptance will be on a first come, first serve basis. 

Notification of acceptance will be provided upon receipt of application form and entry fee.  Team registration will not be considered final until receipt of payment has been confirmed.

Draw will be announced by May 27, 2024. No refunds after April 15, 2024.

Our Goal

The goal of the BDGSA Softball Programs is to ensure all players have a rewarding, memorable, safe and fun experience while participating in our programs. Providing a safe environment is a collaborative process. We ask that parents/guardians/coaches/spectators adhere to the guidelines below and we ask that you also share the following league guidelines with your child/ren:

Respect others and their property

Hands off

No bullying behavior by players, coaches or parents

Listen to the coaches/team managers

Stay with the team while at the ball park

Use appropriate language at all times (this applies to everyone)


If the above guidelines cannot be met, the BDSGA Executive will follow up to address concerns. Parent, coach, and/or player conferences may be required to address concerns at any time during the season.

** Physical or emotional aggression towards another person or oneself (by anyone) may result in a temporary or full suspension from the league. **
